Tamás Mekis graduated from the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest in 2007 and gained a PhD in Egyptology in 2013. His research focuses on the Theban and Panopolitan funerary beliefs in the Late Dynastic and Ptolemaic Periods, and his publications include The Hypocephalus: an Ancient Egyptian Funerary Amulet (Archaeopress 2020).
