About the Author

Andrea Bellotti has a Master's Degree in Archaeology from the University of Siena and a second-level Master in Management del Patrimonio Culturale (MAPAC). Specialized in Public Archaeology and social media communication related to cultural heritage, he is the creator of Let's Dig Again, the first archaeological web radio in Italy, which aims to explain the work of the archaeologist to the public. He is currently working as a freelance archaeologist.


Luca Luppino is a PhD student at the University of Rome La Sapienza in the Heritage Sciences doctoral program. His research interests are early Byzantine domestic architecture and the application of 3D modelling and reconstruction in archaeology. He has worked at the Late Antique site of Vignale-Riotorto in Tuscany, at the excavation of the Byzantine Neighborhood of the Python in Gortyn (Crete), he has also been involved in Contemporary Archaeology with the Percorsi BioGrafici project in the village of Monforte San Giorgio (ME) in Sicily.


Maria Messineo is a freelance archaeologist with a degree in Archaeology and a second-level Master in Data Science and Statistical Learning. She uses deep learning to bridge the gap between archaeology and data science. She has excavated sites across Italy from Prehistory to the Renaissance period, focusing on defining ancient cities' territorial boundaries using various markers.


Mickey Scarcella is a freelance archaeologist with a degree in Archaeology. He specializes in using GIS archaeological applications. Mickey's experiences including archaeological fields throughout Italy from prehistoric times to the medieval period.
