Pietro Militello (1963) is professor of Prehistoric Archaeology and Aegean Archaeology at the University of Catania, and director of the PhD school in Cultural Heritage at the same university. His research focuses on the prehistory of Crete and Sicily, interconnections in the prehistoric Mediterranean, textile archaeology, public archaeology and the history of archaeological research. He has directed or co-directed excavations in Sicily (Calicantone, Calaforno, Pantalica) and is Director of the Italian Archaeological Mission in Phaistos, Crete.
