Marta Ricci has a degree in Medieval Archeology from the University of Florence and a PhD in Archeology from the University of Pisa, specialising in the study of medieval architecture, in particular monastic architecture. In 2013 she was the winner of the "Laura Sabatini" competition, organised by the University of Florence, as the best early work in Medieval Archeology for her degree thesis on the religious architecture of the Island of Elba.
