José das Candeias Sales is a full Professor at Universidade Aberta (Lisbon, Portugal). He co-coordinated the Research Group Global History – Themes and Approaches in Centro de Estudos Globais of Universidade Aberta. Between 2016 and 2023, he coordinated with Susana Mota the research project Tutankhamun in Portugal: Reports in the Portuguese Press (1922-1939). Currently, he coordinates, also with Susana Mota, the project Egyptomania in Portugal: Paths of the Reception of Ancient Egypt in a Portuguese Framework.
