Carlos Bruquetas-Galán

Carlos Bruquetas-Galán has a doctorate in Political Sciences and Sociology from Complutense University of Madrid, where he lectured in sociology from 1993-97. In 2013 he gained a Master’s Degree in Archaeological-Historical Heritage (Cadiz University). He retired from his previous career as a Commander in the Spanish Navy in 1988. In 2006, he was Rapporteur on Arabian Political Reform and Western Perceptions (Foundation Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain, UNESCO), and from 1997-2008 served as President of the Mediterranean Charter Organization. He was Codirector of the Russian-Spanish Forum for European Studies (2010) at Córdoba University and European Studies Institute, MGIMO University. He has published widely on sociological theory, human rights, the armed forces, and Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation.
