Branka Franicevic specialises in burial rites. Her research engages with key debates in archaeology and forensic science by questioning the impact of microbes on the degradation of the human body. Dr Franicevic received her Postgraduate Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Archaeology from the University of Oxford, and her MSc and PhD from the University of Bradford.
