Ana Cruz† was head of the Centre of Transdisciplinary Archaeologies at the Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (CAQ-IPT). She completed her PhD at the Geology Department of the School of Sciences of Life and Environment from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2011. She was active as a field archaeologist and prehistory researcher from the 1980s, mainly investigating late prehistoric settlements and cemeteries in central Portugal (Tomar and Middle-Tagus regions), with a special emphasis on the ancient landscape setting of past communities. She published more than 130 articles, 24 chapters and 8 books.
