Simone Petacchi (PhD) is currently a consultant curator at the Stibbert Museum (Florence) and a scientific collaborator with the Museum of Mediterranean Archaeology (Marseille). He studied Classics and Egyptology in Pisa, Liverpool, and Lille. A member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition (UNESCO site, Sudan), he collaborates with museums and institutions across Europe and Africa. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored volumes on unpublished Pharaonic collections.
